Back in good ole TN...with the Scholls

This time our journey took us to Memphis, TN...to visit with DD and Big Momma.  This was the first time that he met the Italian side of his family.  I had to wait until he was old enough to "handle" the craziness :).

Gavin is not shy when it comes to dogs.  As you can see, he gets a little excited!

Gavin had a good time with Pop.  He was constantly crawling to him and pulling up on his recliner.

Our first outing was to the Memphis Zoo.  We didn't know quite what to expect from G but true to his form, he did not disappoint.

It felt like it was 800 degrees outside but thankfully the zoo had spray stations to cool you off.

I thought I would share these pictures...no need for comment, their faces say it all.

Big Momma and DD insisted that G have something to take home with him so they let Gav pick out an animal.  He chose a snake, of course.  We have named him "Sammy the snake" and he loves to wrestle with him.

Even though it was sweltering HOT, we loved every minute of the zoo.  In fact we stayed so long that we had to feed Gavin his dinner before heading home.

It turned out to be a great picnic under some shade trees.

DD pulled out his guitar and Gavin picked some strings with him.  Gav's tongue helps him concentrate :).

We also had a small family reunion take place at my Uncle Mike's.  Unfortunately we forgot the camera so we didn't get ANY pictures.  We swam, played volleyball, and ate pizza.  It was a great time and I hope we can do something like that again soon!
