From the end of July to the end of August, we lived in the BOQ on NAS Pensacola. It was a great time! I'm so thankful we were able to go with Adam as he took the safety course. Gavin was exposed to lots of things he wasn't used to. One of them was the daily playing of the National Anthem. He learned to stop, be quiet, and place his hand over his heart.
Daddy was able to join us, most days, for lunch. Here they are enjoying their coffee together.
One of our go-to places on a rainy day, was the Aviation Museum. They had planes for the kids to crawl into as well as a mock battleship.
Enjoying one of the beaches
We were able to spend lots of time with some of our favorite military friends. The DeFore's have recently moved to Navarre, FL and Kory now works as a SIM Instructor for the JSF. We tried to have dinner/play dates as much as possible. The kids loved the time together.
Enjoying some Mac-N-Cheese
It became a community dish :)
Every Tuesday Morning, the base offered exercise classes for kids. Lots of time it was just a free-run for an hour.
Of course we frequented the beach as much as possible. Considering how much I hate the sand, I was impressed with myself :).
One weekend, Papa and Nana decided to have a mini-vacation with all of their grandkids. It was a blast.
Pensacola Children's Museum
Gavin's First 3D movie...Planes. He wore the glasses 50% of the time :).
Gulf Shore's Zoo
More Beach time.
Gran-Gran also came down for a visit. We were only 6 hours from our home town...much closer than 14 hours from New Bern.
At the end of our trip, Biggie and DD came for a visit and brought Tobiah back to us. Because we were staying in the BOQ, they didn't allow dogs. So Biggie and DD graciously watched Tobiah for a MONTH-free of charge :).
Gavin, Tobiah, and I left Adam a week early and started heading home because I was nearing 32 weeks prego. The night we got home, poor Gavin got the stomach virus and we were up ALL NIGHT LONG! The next day, these arrived...my husband rocks!
Glad to be home and enjoying the sun rise
