Heffington Summer Visit!

It was a great visit!  Zoey showing off her fishing skills.

Had a picture made like this almost exactly a year ago.  Amazing how much the kiddos have grown.

Boat ride!  Some enjoyed it more than others...

Tim showing off his skills!

When it rains, you dig in the mud...

And some get caught sampling the pies :).

Makes me appreciate the health of our boys!

Grayson had been fighting a minor "anatomy" problem since he was about 9 months old. We consulted a few doctor's about this and were given the advice to hold off on the possibility of surgery.  Long story, short.  Nothing improved and the surgery was inevitable.  Better now than when he began potty training.  Soon, we reluctantly scheduled the surgery at LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis.  It was a VERY MINOR surgery but I was still super nervous about Grayson's reaction to anesthesia because, thankfully, he had never had to deal with it before.

Our day started super early in the morning which should explain him being in his PJs. I requested the earliest possible because we still had to drive back to Pickwick the same day.  Gavin stayed with Biggie and went to the Children's Museum-which happened to be just down the road.

Enjoying all the attention from us and the staff.  I can't say enough about LeBonheur and what they have meant to my family.  We will always choose the extra miles (if possible) in order for our kids to be treated there. Although this surgery was routine for them, they continually showed us patience with every question I through at them-and there were A LOT (shocking).

Starting to get sleepy after being up for so long.

So dad decided to walk some laps...

Afterwards, he was extremely agitated from the medicine and in some pain.  Thankfully we were able to discharge quickly and get him home before the numbing medicine wore off.  He was a trooper!!

The Capps' come to Pickwick!

There are few families in this world that I would consider to be remarkable...the Capps' would be one of those few.  They are the definition of a Christian family trying to provide light in this dark world.  We met the Capps' many moons ago (8 years-ish) and have watched them grow their family and continue to strive for other's to come to know Christ.  Adam served 2 tours with Shaun in VMAQ-2!  We were so excited for them to stay with us for a few nights while they were on their way to visit family.  We hope they had so much fun they will make it here every year :).

Morning exercise!

Then on to Boating!

Checking out the waterfall...and watching the jumpers!

Little snack.

Amelia was the chief of that tube!

The tired blank stares from most of them.  Can you tell the only one who took a nap?

Nothing says late night snack at the lake better than s'mores by the fire.

Daddy's other job

Adam is a reservist for the Marine Corps and his job is to instruct with TW-6.  He regularly travels down to FL and we take the opportunity to go with him.  The kids absolutely love it and it is worth the work in order to spend the extra days with Dad.

We made it...8 hours later!

Of course we hit the beach...

Giggles....

Glow light baths!

Flounders (our favorite restaurant)!  The kids love the park and so do the parents :).

The Naval Aviation Museum!  We usually visit here when it rains.

And on rare occasion we attend a Blue Wahoos Game.  This time our seats were awesome! Gav even got a gambol signed!

Colors.  Every morning at 0800.

With Dad's job, we are able to get front row seats to watch the Blues practice...

Hermit crabs are our friends

There is an iMax theater at the museum that we like to visit too.

This is the park that we always end our run at.

We have friends from the Prowler life that live close enough to Pensacola that we try and get together as often as we can.

Then there is Perdido Kids Park (aka the Blue Angel park to the kids)

Time-outs even happen on vacation.

Gran-gran even came with us one time!

Our routine stop at Chick-fil-A...they even know us by name! Lol!

Buttering me up for something I'm sure

Changing it up from the parks to baseball practice

Visiting daddy's squadron

Our regular park in Citronelle on the way home!
