Move Number 9!

(In 10 years).  Yep unfortunately that statistic is correct!  We have recently made another trek down the east coast and found ourselves, once again, in New Bern, NC.  I am asked the question a lot, if I like it here.  I would have to say it is one of my favorite places we have lived.  In fact, this is the birthplace of our son!  HOWEVER, I have very mixed emotions about returning so soon.

We enjoyed a much needed break from squadron life, long work days, deployments, etc. and settled nicely into our role at EWS.  It seems like we blinked and that precious time was over.  We knew it was too good to be true, but what we didn't know was where the Marine Corps would choose to move us next.  Adam was selected to fly the F35 (Joint Strike Fighter) but due to reasons unknown, some of the guys were "delayed a couple of years."  So in the mean time, they decided to send Adam back to a squadron where his qualifications and "know-how" could be used.

So after just 10 short months, we reluctantly return...which brings me to the "mixed-emotions" part.  We are now enduring 12-16 hour days and learning how to cope with "Daddy?  He's at work son.  He loves you very much!" But we are enjoying the mornings when Adam is awakened by Gav!  They have at least  a 5 minute wrestling session where Tobiah and Gavin always win!

One of our favorite things to do...feed the birds!

All by himself...of course.

Even thought to bring bird seed for the pigeons

Adam's photography skills at work

Biggie getting in on the action

After the move, Nana and Papa couldn't stay away any longer :)

Neuse River Festival,  downtown New Bern

Not quite sure, so he made up his own game

Gavin's new favorite game...wrestling.

Papa loses!

More exciting adventures from New Bern coming soon...
